Sail to Brazil for the COP30 climate summit.
❓Have you heard of Flotilla 4 Change? They are facilitating an ocean crossing of sail boats from Europe to Brazil this autumn for COP30. I personally think this sounds incredible.
The aims behind this project are to:
⛵Support indigenous communities at COP30 so that their voices are heard. We think it important that indigenous knowledge informs the decision-making process, particularly when concerning the amazon rainforest.
⛵To create a network that revolutionises how we travel. Sailing takes a long time. So how can long journeys like this be factored into our lives so that we can do them again and again, especially for important events like global climate summits? This journey is the first of many, to experiment with all the factors at play.
We have ambitious aims to gather 42 boats for this journey, and grab the internet's attention to show that flying is not the only option.
⛵We aim to connect with a diverse community of activists and delegates and give them safe and exciting passage to COP30. If you would like to sail to COP30, join our network where we have resources for getting funding and sponsorship, and courses for joining a boat as crew. 2025 has BEGUN. :)
The team are working away whenever they have a free moment to make this happen. We do need funds to create impactful events when we get to COP, for marketing materials, logistics, to make the project accessible to low-income activists, to make resources for people sailing the Atlantic for the first time, and to pay the people we need on the project for their time.
Been flying a lot recently? Offset it here. Keep eating tasty Bolognese? Offset that here too! :)
Or the other way - didn't buy that new pair of trainers? - donate the cost to us instead. Let’s make some waves! 🌊
