During Sail Amsterdam, Fair Winds Collective partners joined a Planktoscope workshop aboard the Grayhound to explore how sailors can support ocean science by collecting plankton data. This collaboration with SOOP enables citizen scientists at sea to monitor marine biodiversity and carbon cycles using innovative low-cost technology.

Enriching experience for our 6th graders today with Peggy Engelmann from the Fair Winds Collective, who shared her journey across the Atlantic with fair-trade organic cocoa beans by the sailing cargo ship Avontuur. The students not only learned about the challenges of sustainable shipping but also enjoyed tasting the results!
