Interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla by Israeli Forces
The Global Sumud Flotilla, a peaceful civilian initiative, was intercepted and boarded by Israeli forces while en route to Gaza. The flotilla’s stated mission was to challenge Israel’s blockade of Gaza, which has been described by United Nations agencies and international human rights organizations as a violation of international law.
The interception of the flotilla highlights ongoing restrictions imposed on the movement of people and goods in and out of Gaza. Human rights groups have repeatedly called for the blockade to be lifted, citing severe humanitarian consequences for the civilian population.
The organizers of the Global Sumud Flotilla urge governments and international institutions to address these actions, uphold international law, and work towards an end to the blockade and the genocide.

"Hi my name is Sil Kiewiet de Jonge. I'm a citizen of the Netherlands. If you're watching this video I've been abducted against my will and taken by Israeli forces. Our humanitarian mission was nonviolent and abiding by international law. Please tell my government to demand my immediate release and end their complicity in the genocide of people of Gaza."
