Sail Freight in the U.S.
Sail freight is re-emerging in the United States as a practical zero-carbon logistics solution. The Center for Post Carbon Logistics is developing scalable models using small ports, microcontainer systems, and open-source sailing cargo vessels to cut emissions, stabilize costs, and strengthen coastal communities. With proven routes and growing momentum, sail freight is shifting from concept to reality.

Sailing for Science
During Sail Amsterdam, Fair Winds Collective partners joined a Planktoscope workshop aboard the Grayhound to explore how sailors can support ocean science by collecting plankton data. This collaboration with SOOP enables citizen scientists at sea to monitor marine biodiversity and carbon cycles using innovative low-cost technology.
