The Fair for the Wind-Powered Maritime Future - Symposium in Den Helder 9th November
The EZS and Fair Winds Collective gathered sailors, shipbuilders, architects, scientists, and many more at the Traditionele Schepen Beurs. It was a full day of talks, ideas, and inspiration on the wind-powered future of shipping.
Speakers from The Ocean Movement, Dykstra Naval Architects, Clipper Stad Amsterdam, and Raybel Charters shared powerful insights on how we can learn from our past, move cargo and people by pure wind power.
We ended the day with a ship tour and a fantastic network drink at Tres Hombres - great conversations, new connections, and fresh wind in our sails.
The energy we created together will keep pushing our mission forward.
Program 9th Nov 2025:
Fabienne van Doveren / The Ocean Movement
“Projects for cleaner Oceans”
Thomas van Es / Dijkstra Naval Architects
“Harvesting energy while sailing” (Are diesel generators
obsolete?)
Captain Andi Manser / Clipper Stad Amsterdam
“Sailing passengers in a sustainable way” (The route to
becoming the greenest passengervessel in the world.)
Faye Thorley / Raybel Charters
“Reviving ancient trade routes” (With modern sustainability.)
Let’s hoist the sails for a sustainable future — and celebrate the wind as our greatest ally once again.
