A Strong Showing in Bremen
Fair Winds Collective reached the top three at the MCN Cup in Bremen, earning recognition for smart, sustainable, and future-oriented maritime innovation. Our mission for wind-powered propulsion and practical zero-emission solutions gained strong industry attention, sparking new connections and momentum.

Wind-Powered Ocean Science
Fair Winds Collective and SOOP equip wind-powered vessels with PlanktoScopes for emission-free ocean science. By building a shared instrument pool, they enable decentralized data collection on plankton, climate change, and marine biodiversity. This collaboration advances sustainable ocean observation and invites public support to expand responsible, low-impact marine research.

Sustainability Under Sail – On YouTube
Sailors, shipbuilders, architects, scientists, and maritime enthusiasts for a full day of talks, ideas, and inspiration on the wind-powered future of shipping.
Speakers from The Ocean Movement, Dykstra Naval Architects, Clipper Stad Amsterdam, and Raybel Charters shared forward-looking perspectives on combining traditional sailing heritage with modern sustainability — from cleaner oceans and energy-harvesting sails to the revival of ancient trade routes.

KaapKargo Sets Sail for Sustainable Trade
KaapKargo joined FICCA 2025 in Neiva, Colombia, to present their wind-powered, zero-emission shipping. While the Ide Min prepares for its next voyage, manager and team member Huib Koel is visiting cacao farmers in Huila to ensure organic quality and fair working conditions. Together, they’re proving that truly sustainable trade starts in the field - and sails with the wind.
